Anne Weed

Anne passed away peacefully at the age of 93 years at North Okanagan Hospice House with family by her side on June 18th, 2014.

She was born in Kelliher, Sask. In 1921. Predeceased by husband Jay, in 1997; parents, Fred and Mary Yanko; sisters, Olga and Rose; and brother, John. She is survived by sisters: Nelly, Kay, Carol (John), and Julie (Aubrey); brothers: Pete, Mike (Winnie), and Bill (Barb).

She met the love of her life, Jay, in Regina, Sask. and they were married in 1946. They moved to B. C. in 1953 and to Vernon in 1980 where they were avid square dancers and loved being great aunt and uncle to Mark and Kevin. She will be greatly missed by all her numerous nieces and nephews who all hold “AUNTIE ANNE” dear to their hearts.

The family would like to thank Dr. Chan for his care to Anne over the years and to Hospice house staff for their wonderful loving care.

A funeral service for Anne will be held on Monday, June 23rd, 2014 at Pleasant Valley Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so may make donations in Anne’s name to North Okanagan Hospice Society, 3506 – 27th Avenue, Vernon, B. C. V1T 1S4.
