It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Anne Fedor Becker, on Thursday February 2, 2023 in Montreal Quebec, at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late Henry Becker, Anne will be dearly missed by her son Kevin (Katherine), cherished granddaughter Cassandre (Sébastien) and great-granddaughter Élodie Anne. She was predeceased by her Brother Julius (Marie-Jeanne), Sister Emma (Rudi) and brother-in-law Anton (Jean Mailer).
Anne was born in Spisska Bela Czechoslovakia on September 30, 1927 to Albert Fedor and Katarina Kozik. The family immigrated to Montreal Canada in 1931, and became Canadian citizens in 1937. Anne attended D'arcy McGee High School and earned a business degree from the Canadian Business College. She was proud of her work ethics, and as a young woman worked alongside her sister Emma at JL Sabbath Jewellers, then in the secretarial pool at ITT mastering shorthand and stenography, and later for the Reitman family.
Anne and Henry met in 1947 at a Montreal High school dance, and were married on June 2, 1951, building a wonderful life together over the next 69 years. She was a loving wife and mother, passionate about painting, cooking, travel, and current events. She had an eye for fashion and an elegant style, always taking a moment to ensure her lipstick was on and her bag matched her shoes. Anne was proud of her heritage and family traditions of Sunday lunches and family dinners. She loved watching classic films such as The Sound of Music, as well as The Lawrence Welk show, especially if it was alongside her granddaughter. Anne and Henry travelled on many trips abroad with - 'the gang' - a group of dear friends who enjoyed dinners together, followed by cards games, always with coffee and cake. Anne and Henry also travelled extensively across Canada and in the US, spending winters in Florida in their latter years.
Anne's wishes were to forgo a formal funeral, instead to be remembered when the weather is warm, sun is shining and the birds are singing. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered for her kindness, delicate touch and wonderful baking skills, but most of all, her belly laughs.
