She was Commodore of the Navy Yacht Club, in 1993 Commodore of the Association of Santa Barbara Channel Yacht Clubs in 1994 and a member of the International Order of the Blue Gavel and the Anacapa Yacht Club. She also belonged to the 146th Alumni Association.
She is survived by her husband, William Marley; brother, Thomas Johnson (Betty) of Elkland, Missouri; daughter, Tammy Flanders (David) of Kasilof, Alaska; daughter, Wendy Goldberg of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughter, Tina Goldberg of Oxnard; daughter, Cathy Currie (Steven) of New Waterford, Nova Scotia; son, Christopher Goldberg (Patti) of Branson, Missouri; son, Brandon Marley (Karla) of Albuquerqe, New Mexico. Her passing will leave a great void in the lives of those that loved her. Rose wanted to be cremated and her ashes spread at sea with plenty of flowers.
“And may there be no sadness of farewell,
When I embark;
For though from out our bourne of Time and Place
The flood may bear me far,
I hope to see my Pilot face to face
When I have crossed the bar.”
Alfred Lord Tennyson, 1889
A memorial service and reception for Rose is being planned for the future.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3150 Loma Vista Rd., Ventura. Condolences may be left at TedMayrFuneralHome.com.
