Margie was born on January 17, 1924, in Commerce, Oklahoma to LaVada and Jackson Countryman. The family moved to Santa Paula, CA in 1928.
She married Milton Oliver on March 1, 1942. Together they resided in Santa Paula and raised five children. Margie loved company and spending time with her family. She was a long time member of Santa Paula Foursquare Church and was very active with United Foursquare Women in the early 1970’s. As a strong woman of faith and life, Margie was also a nine year breast cancer survivor.
Margie was preceded in death by her mother and father, eight siblings, loving husband, Milton Oliver and daughter, Betty Howard. She is survived by her sister, Louise Hite; son, Jack Oliver; daughter, Janet (Bill) Lindsay; son-in-law, Keith Howard; son, Joe (Pam) Oliver; son, Ed (Donna) Oliver; eight grandchildren, Jacqui (Gilbert) Mesecher, Billy (Dawn) Lindsay, Dianna (Chris) McKeever, Jeanne (Art) Rodriguez, Karen Howard, Greg (Sarah) Lindsay, Jonathan Oliver and Jeremy Oliver; nine great-grandchildren, Ryan and Taylor Lindsay, Blake, Gavin and Austin McKeever, Philip, Lilian and Andrew Howard, and most recently Audree Lindsay. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews as well as church and family friends who loved her dearly.
A graveside service will be held Friday, October 17, 2014, 11:00 AM, at Santa Paula Cemetery, 380 Cemetery Road, Santa Paula, with Pastor John Farmer officiating. Flowers may be arranged through Yamaguchi’s Nursery, 805-525-9268.
