Janet Louise Bryson, 66, of Ventura, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010, in Ventura following a prolonged illness. Mrs. Bryson was born April 9, 1944, in Los Angeles, California, and had been a resident of Ventura for forty years moving here from Westchester, CA.
Mrs. Bryson had been a payroll clerk for Hughes Aircraft Company in Los Angeles for five years; a bookkeeper for the Ventura Chamber of Commerce for nine years and an elementary lunch and recess monitor for six years retiring in 1994. In addition to working outside the home, Jan was always a devoted homemaker and loved cooking, knitting, magazines, camping in Yosemite, vacationing and trips to Chumash, Laughlin and Las Vegas.
Janet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Although battling multiple illnesses over many years she remained strong with few complaints. Her focus was her family who all meant the most to her. She will be dearly missed by all.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Bill Bryson; daughter, Christine Rodarte; son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Shannon Bryson; four grandchildren Brandi Rodarte, Tyler Rodarte, Ashlynn Bryson and Mykaela Bryson all of Ventura.
Friends may visit from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Rd., Ventura. A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Friday, April 23, also at the funeral home, where Pastor Gary Palmer will officiate.
