Hilda Rose Schmidt

Hilda is survived by her daughters, Adona Loftus, Denise Potts, and Darla Schmidt; her grandchildren, Richard and James Loftus (Sara), and Amanda Thompson (Jeremy); and her sisters, Helen Gunnells and Margy Barrington.

Born in Toronto Canada, Hilda was a 90 year resident of Ventura. Hilda attended E. P. Foster, Ventura High School, and was a VUSD Cafeteria worker for 30 plus years.

Hilda enjoyed cooking, baking and reading. Her passion was for cats; she loved and cared for her pets, and donated generously to Humane Society.

Raised during the Depression, Hilda did not believe in spending lavishly on herself. She was committed to the welfare of her family, and made sure her loved ones were provided for. She will be remembered and honored forever in our hearts.

Burial ceremony will be held at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Road, Ventura, California, on Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at 10 am.
