Bruce Douglass Hamilton of Camarillo passed away on July 10, 2011, after a hard fought battle with colon cancer. Bruce was born on August 20, 1951, in Santa Monica, to Douglass and Ann Hamilton. Bruce attended Loyola Marymount University where he was captain of the golf team from 1969-1973. Bruce then married Marcia White, sold his business, Ye Old Golf Shoppe, and moved to Camarillo where he became head golf pro at Las Posas Country Club in 1975. More than two decades later, he took his talents to Spanish Hills Country Club in 1997 where he spent the last 13 years as one of the top 100 golf instructors in the Country, highlighted when his star pupil and closest friend Corey Pavin won the 1995 U.S. Open Championship.
Bruce was a kind hearted, generous and endearing soul. He was loved and watched over by so many friends that he truly appreciated and cared for deeply in return.

Bruce is survived by his brother, Scott Hamilton; sister, Dana Hamilton; son Jeff Hamilton; daughter, Jennifer Hamilton-Goldsmith and their mother, Marcia Santilli; son-in-law, Zach Goldsmith; daughter Alexx Jade Hamilton and her mother Gina Fortunato; and his devoted friend and companion Diane Manson.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 13, 5:00 P.M. at Spanish Hills Country Club, 999 Crestview Avenue, Camarillo, CA 93010. A reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers the family would ask that memorial donations be made to the Ventura County Chapter of the American Cancer Society, 2186 Knoll Dr., Suite A Ventura, Ca 93003
