Our family lost a special soul Sunday morning October 11, 2015, when our beloved Mother and Nana, Barbara, “Pat” Reardon, wife of Walter F. Reardon Jr. (Papa), passed into her new life with our Heavenly Father. She was set free to dance with her beloved husband in Heaven.
Pat was born in Mobridge, South Dakota on August 29, 1932. The daughter of a rancher who later moved the family to Los Angeles, Pat attended St. Agnes High School. It was here where she met the love of her life, “Bud” and they were married at 19. Shortly thereafter, she moved to Kodiak, Alaska to be close to him while he served in the Naval Reserve. Afterwards, they returned to California and settled in Temple City. In 1967, they moved to Upland where they resided for more than 40 years. Shortly after Walt’s passing in 2009, Pat moved to Ventura, to be closer to her three daughters.
Pat was a dedicated and loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and friend! Throughout her life she was very active in a Women’s bowling league, and as a volunteer for San Antonio Regional Hospital in Upland. She was known as an avid doll collector, crafter, an amazing cook and she especially enjoyed watching football! For the past three years, she won awards at the Ventura County Fair for her cooking and her doll collections. She recently discovered a ‘hidden talent’ as a water color artist, but those who knew her best will remember her for her warm hugs, her kind and generous spirit and the “treats” that she loved to share with all whom she encountered.
Her greatest legacy, after 58 years of marriage, is the loving family she leaves behind. She and Walt raised six wonderful children, 13 grandchildren and 2.8 great grandchildren. They include, Michael (Cathy); William "Bill" (Pam); Mary (Forrest) Fleming; Tricia (Ray) Krakowski; David (Stephanie); and Kathleen;
13 grandchildren, Laura; Joseph (Ali) Fleming; Kimberly (Rob) Clayton; Devon Krakowski; Scott Fleming; Krista (Andrew) Julian; Kelly; Michelle Krakowski; Alexandra “Alex”; “Maddi” Fleming; Robert “Bobby”; Kevin; and Cory; and great grandchildren, Lily Julian (& baby boy Julian due next month) & Robert Clayton III.
