She is survived by her “one and only true love,” Jack. “I never knew I would be in love so much, especially with all that’s happened these last two years. I feel so very lucky and happy.”
She is also survived by her devoted parents, Kaycee and Terry (Papa) Lashman (We love you to the moon and back, our little lion); brother, Tony; baby dogs, Bella and Hugo; grandma, Diane; aunts and uncles, Kelly Jordan, Riley Inge, Trevor Jordan, Tim Thompson, Debbie Thompson; loving cousins, Joshua (like a brother), Kaiya, Seren, Keenan, Dani, Ryan, Dakota, Sherry, Natasha, Sienna, Nina, and Nadine; Phil Waters (Dad) and Christine (step-mom); grandparents, Lynn and Ron (deceased) Waters; many aunts, uncles, and close cousin relationships, Ceilidh, Anna, Dave, and Adam (deceased).
Mallory was our heart, a source of child-like joy, with a smile like sunshine that could warm you up on the inside, and such a generosity of spirit... And those big, deep, beautiful eyes that sparkled!
She was kind, compassionate, thoughtful, loyal, smart, and fiercely protective of the ones she loved. She once posted, “My heart is so big I help people even when I be needing helping.” It was. And she was playful and fun.
Mallory loved Tony, Joshua, Aunty Kelly, her friends, blasting music, making art, bingeing on her favorite shows, cooking, baking, and away holidays.
Mallory will forever live in our hearts and minds as having the best heart, the best laugh, the best food maker, and the best holiday adventurer.
November 2021 marked the beginning of Mallory’s unexpected health war. Her doctors remarked that few people could fight like her, so on the last day, in her final battle, it wasn’t Mallory that stopped fighting; it was science. Throughout she was brave and strong, fighting alongside Jack, Terry, Kaycee, and her aunty Kelly to achieve her goal: to happily keep life-ing with her Jack.
Mallory and her family would like to deeply thank Jack for his loyalty, kindness, care, humor, and commitment to fight at Mallory’s side in the arena; our hearts are breaking for both for Jack (“captain”) and Mally (“first mate”).
We also deeply thank Vancouver General Hospital’s ICU, trauma, and general surgery teams. Mallory felt profound gratitude for Dr. Evans and Dr. Dawe, who fought alongside her in the arena until her very last day.
Mallory left specific instructions for a private cremation service and a future memorial service. The family will notify loved ones once her service is scheduled. In lieu of flowers, Mallory requests donations be made to the SPCA.
We will forever remember and love you, Mally!!!
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.hamiltonharronfunerals.com for the Waters family.
Remember Me in Quiet Days.
Remember me in quiet days,
while raindrops
whisper on your pane.
Remember in your memories
have no grief,
let the joy we knew remain.
Remember me if once you wake,
to catch a glimpse of red sunrise.
Remember when your thoughts
do turn to me,
know that I would not have you cry,
but live for me, and laugh for me.
When you are happy so am I.
Remember an old joke we shared.
Remember me when
spring walks by.
Think once of me when you are glad
And while you live, I shall not die!
