David was my brother & I loved him with all my heart. I am having a hard time believing I will never see him again. I looked up to him. He was good at everything he did. He loved the outdoors, skiing, playing tennis & most of all baseball. He was a musician, started out playing drums, then guitar & harmonica. I used to love going to the dances he & his band played at, when I was a teenager. I was so proud of him.  He loved his daughters so much & was an excellent father. He loved his garden, & created a tropical paradise. He never said a bad word about anybody. He was funny, witty, & your most trusted friend. He will be dearly missed.

I worked with Dave from 2007 until he retired, he was always cheerful and happy, with a big smile on his face.  We sat a few cubicles away, and worked closely on property referrals. He was witty and sincere,  and a pleasure to work with. I considered him one of my mentors. Helpful, honest, caring, funny, a true gentleman, are some of the words that come to mind when I think of Dave.

 I will always remember you Dave!

I'm so sad to hear about Dave's passing. I had the pleasure of working with him.  No matter how many questions I had, Dave always had time to give me answers.  His sense of humour and quick wit will be missed by all.

Completely stunned by Dave's passing.  
Dave was a truly genuine and down to earth person with a wonderful perspective on things, a kind soul who never spoke ill of anyone.   Loved his sense of humour and insights.
I will always have fond memories of meeting up with Dave in the field at a designated circuit and structure then chatting about all manner of things after we got the work part sorted out.
He shall truly be missed by all who knew him.

Dave was my uncle and I have many memories of times together as a family. Every single memory includes Uncle Dave with a smile on his face making me laugh with his wit. Aunt Karen, Amy, Rosie - sending love and virtual hugs. 

Amidst all the turmoil currently around us, Dave's death is a strong shock. Dana and I, with dog Malu and cat Snoopy, live just west of Willow on 19th Avenue, and Dave has been a big part of our neighbourhood life. 

We'd stop and talk about the jungle of interesting plants growing under his care out front and perhaps more pertinently to Dave and I, we'd talk tennis and old Volvos. There are a bunch of Heather Court tennis people who are now, or when they hear the news, will be very sad. Dave was a strong player and court wit, and sage. Strong bonds formed over the years. He will be mightily missed by many in this one big part of his life.

I'm so sorry to hear about Dave's passing.  I had known him for over 30 years working together.  Dave was always so full of life and no matter what the situation always approached things with a great sense of humour.

So shocked and sorry to hear this. My deepest sympathies to the family. I worked with Dave for many years. He was always a lot of fun on field trips; loved his sense of humour.

Dave sat next to me at work for a few years at BC Hydro.  Although we worked in different fields, we greeted each other and chatted about many things.  What I know about Dave is that he was very knowledgeable in his technical field of expertise and always offer wise insights into everyday life issues.  He had a  quiet demeanor but was passionate about his interests outside of work.   I am blessed to have had him as my office neighbor.  

My condolences to Dave’s family in this difficult times. 

I am indeed saddened and shocked to read about his passing. He always looked youthful and had a spring in his walk! 
My heartfelt condolences to the family and May God Give you the Strength to bear this loss. 

He was gentlemen, a wonderful colleague. While I did not have a significant professional association with him we used to greet each other almost on a daily basis.  In these short encounters as well at meetings I can recall his great sense of humor. A musical presentation at a Christmas gathering is still very vivid in my memory     Rest in peace my friend.

Very sad to hear this. Dave was such a fun part of my working life. His musical performances were legendary.

Dear Karen, Rosie and Amy,  I am very shocked and saddened by this tragic news. Really I am stunned because I just saw Dave a few weeks ago at Stu Braidwood’s Memorial. I feel so bad for the three of you, please except my condolences.

I’ve known Dave for quite a few years and he was always a good friend, cheerful and always up for a joke or two. I know that all of his previous work mates feel the same way. 

Dave and I commuted to work in the car for many years, and it was so frequent that he told me how much he loved “his girls”, and was especially proud of his daughters.  

We kept in touch from time to time after his retirement, He was the kind of friend who kept in touch with others. I will really miss Dave.
