Jeanne Darc Marie Briere

She was born and raised in small town southern Saskatchewan. She is predeceased by her parents Philias and Alice Briere; two sisters, Lucille Reid and Irene Bianchini as well as three brothers, Paul Briere, Rene Briere and Maurice Briere. She leaves to mourn eleven nieces and nephews, all from Alberta as well as a few cousins.

It is with happiness however that we remember her to have lived and enjoyed a life involving world travel such as to Japan, Africa, Europe, Hawaii, Cuba and Mexico just to name a few. And for those who knew her will remember her involvement in sportsmanship of many fashions such as sailing, tennis, dragon boat racing, pickleball, cycling and skiing.

As a young lady, Aunty studied nursing in Winnipeg, Manitoba and worked in various cities including Winnipeg, Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and eventually ending in Vancouver. The friends in her life were numerous and from coast to coast; she particularly fancied the “French” ones because she was proud of her French heritage.

It is comforting to say that Dr. Seus was right, “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”
