Geoffrey Chi Fai Choi 蔡志暉, born August 8, 1932, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2020 at the age of 87 in Burnaby BC.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; his children Vivian, Heman and Emily; his grandkids Lena and William.
Chi Fai graduated from Sun Yat-Sen University and subsequently got his Master’s degree mid-career from Newcastle University. He spent his early years in Guangzhou and Macau, before marrying Margaret Mei Ying Wan 溫美英 in 1959, then setup his family in Hong Kong. He retired a Chief Structural Engineer after serving 32 years in the HK Government. One of his proudest projects being the funnel shaped HK Garrison Headquarters at Admiralty.
Chi Fai spent his retirement years in Burnaby BC Canada. He is a meticulous person, life-long learner, and a quiet yet caring father. He is also an avid traveler, painter, and a classical music enthusiast. His daughters must have picked up a note or two from him, as they are both professional musicians.
