Anastasia (Nouli) Kotsovos (nee Gabriel) was born in Methoni, Messinia, Greece on January 1, 1952. In 1968 she met and married the love of her life Constantinos Kotsovos and bravely set off for Montreal, Canada with hopes and dreams of a brighter future. In 1978 they finally settled in Vancouver with their two daughters Sophia and Vivian (Hector). They worked tirelessly, and happily, to make their dreams come true. Together they created a home filled with laughter and love, achieving many of their dreams. And although she tragically lost her loving husband Constantinos in 1997, she determinedly set forth to complete their dream of building a home in Greece, leaving a legacy for their children and grandchildren.
Nouli was full of life – a force. A giant wrapped in a small package. Those she loved she loved fiercely and completely. Her family, both near and far were the cornerstone of her life. Her greatest joy however were her grandchildren Mihali, Niko and Anastasia. And they in turn adored her. She will be remembered for her exuberance, love, and passion for life. She was an inspiration and role model to all who knew her and loved by many.
And although the loss is devastating, her children and grandchildren will all do our best to make her proud. Her love, spirit and memory will be cherished forever. Her legacy will never be forgotten and will carry on through each of us.
Nouli, Anastasia, Picollo, Mama, Mom, Yiayia, we will all miss you with all our hearts.
