Viola “Nonnie” Brown, 60, of Poteau, a lifelong resident of Crawford County, passed away Monday, February 21, 2022 in Fort Smith. She was born July 31, 1961 in Van Buren to the late Charles and Mary (Easter) Bentley. She was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant, and had worked at Walmart on Midland.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Ray; and in-laws, Billy and Patricia Brown.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Billy Jo Brown of the home; three sons, William Brown and wife Julie of Poteau, Cody Brown and wife Kaily of Van Buren, and Bobby Jones of Tampa, FL; three sisters, Betty Ulm and husband Todd of Fayetteville, Susan Hanson and companion Randy Hyatt of Van Buren, and Joyce Lovell and husband Randy of Hackett; six brothers, Wayne Bentley, Runt Bentley and wife Betty, and Clifford Bentley and wife Shannon, all of Cedarville, Eugene Bentley and wife Betty of Rock Island, Chris Fashing of Van Buren, and Dana Fashing of Fort Smith; five grandchildren, Jerald, Michelle, Kaya, Bella, and Maggie; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR. A celebration of life will be held at a later date with Bro. Greg Canday officiating.
