Jerry D. Brown, 71, of Fort Smith, died Wednesday, January 5, 2011 in a Fort Smith hospital. He was born September 17, 1939 in Blooming Grove, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army, was the retired president and CEO of the Credit Bureau in Fort Smith, and was a member of Spradling Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Jessee Brown and a brother, James Wesley Brown, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Brown of the home; two sons, Tim Brown of Corinth, TX and Chris Brown of Fort Smith, AR; one sister, Janice Sue Cosby of Texas; one brother, Jack Brown of Dallas, TX; as well as 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Memorial service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 7, 2011 at Spradling Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Smith. Mr. Brown was cremated under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren.
