Jack Wayne Watson, 88, of Alma, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014 at his home. He was born May 2, 1926 in Alma to the late Ben and Alva Teague Watson. He was retired from Allen Canning after 30 years. He loved to buy, sell and trade, and attended the Maple Shade Church of the Nazarene. He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Lou Watson, and a brother, Billy Edwin Watson.
He is survived by two daughters, Connie Terry and husband Bill of Alma, and Jackie Hatley and husband Mike of Alma; three grandchildren, Ben Hatley, Brandi Hatley, and Trampus Terry and wife Traci “Staci”; two nephews, Edwin Lee Watson, and Billy Don Watson; a niece, Patricia Ann Secrest; and his beloved dog, Lucy.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the Maple Shade Church of the Nazarene in Alma with interment to follow at Newberry Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be Ellis Brisher, Ed Watson, Donnie Watson, Ben Hatley, Mike Hatley, and Trampus Terry. Honorary pallbearers will be the gentlemen that trade at the Little Ponderosa.
The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
