Ivan Leroy Hoffman, Jr., 76, of Rudy, passed away Friday, December 30, 2022 in Fort Smith. He was born June 26, 1946 in Webster City, Iowa to the late Ivan and Phyllis (Caquelin) Hoffman, Sr. He was a registered land surveyor beginning his career in 1965 and was licensed as an Arkansas Professional Surveyor in 1973 receiving subsequent licenses in Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, Louisiana, and West Virginia. In 1978, Ivan established Hoffman & Associates, Incorporated, a Surveying and Engineering firm in Van Buren. He was a member of the Arkansas State Board for Professional Engineers and Professional Surveyors, the Arkansas Society of Professional Surveyors, and the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) and had served in a wide-variety of positions for each. He had been an instructor for a surveying course at what is now known as the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith. Ivan was a member and active deacon at First Baptist Church in Van Buren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ardella Marie Hoffman.
He is survived by three daughters, Tamara Harness of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Monica Baker of Freeport, FL, and Heather Dean of Rudy; three sisters, Rosemary Hayes of Alma, Betty Dillenburg of Missouri, and Rachel Van Devender of Rudy; a brother, Terry Hoffman of Rudy; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2023 at First Baptist Church Chapel in Van Buren with interment to follow at Morrison Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Harness, Jeff Dean, Andy Baker, Aaron Koprovic, Kyle Koprovic, and Logan Koprovic.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
