Howard Mahar

Howard Mahar, 81, of Van Buren, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022 in Fayetteville. He was born August 17, 1941 in Fort Smith to the late Charles and Oris (Hulse). He was retired from Arkhola Sand & Gravel.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Mahar; a sister, Paula Fisher; and three brothers, Charles, Danny, and James Mahar.

He is survived by two sons, Eddie Mahar and wife Tracy of Paris, TX, and Mark Mahar of Alma; two sisters, Nancy Sexton and Sharon Stringer, both of Fort Smith; four grandchildren, Kyler Mahar and wife Macy, Kaylie Mahar, Jaden Mahar, and Mason Mahar; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Gill Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Kizzia, Tyler Chandler, Adam Nicholson, Andrew Daniels, Pat Mahar, and Chuck Mahar.

The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2022, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
