Brenda Elaine Melton, 55, of Mulberry, Arkansas, died Friday, October 15, 2010 in her home. She was born July 31, 1955 in McAlister, Oklahoma. She worked at Short Stop Truck Stop for over 25 years and was a member of Oak Bower Christian Center in Mulberry. She was preceded in death by her mother, Tessie McMurry; a brother, Dr. William J. McMurry; and one grandson, Gerald Todd Davis, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Max E. Melton of the home; one daughter, Sarah Davis of Fort Smith, AR; her father, Bill McMurry of Cameron, OK; as well as one sister, Karen Beard of Fort Smith, AR.
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 18, 2010 at Oak Bower Christian Center in Mulberry with burial at Oak Bower Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Gerald Todd Davis, Marcus Melton, Paul Matthews, Justin Laird, and Cliff Wall.
The family will visit with friends from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, October 17, 2010 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Hwy, Van Buren, AR.
