Alma Rae Woodruff Peevy Parker, 82, of Van Buren, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017. She was born May 13, 1935 in Plainview, AR to the late Oscar and Iva Woodruff. Alma was a retired schoolteacher, having taught elementary school for 40 years in both the Van Buren and Alma School Systems. She private tutored for 16 years, loved sewing, gardening, crocheting, painting, and designing houses. She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Chester Woodruff.
She is survived by two sons, Ralph Peevy of Van Buren, and Rodney Peevy and wife Jean of El Dorado, AR; a sister, Wilma Faye Woodruff of Danville, AR; a brother, Samuel Woodruff of Danville, AR; a grandson, Gregory Harrison of El Dorado, AR and two great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held privately, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
