Carolyn Page Benge, age 65, of Valdese, NC, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Carolina Healthcare System Blue Ridge in Morganton, NC.

Mrs. Benge was born on July 24, 1951 in Catawba Co., NC. to the late Rev. Ray Page and Charlotte Bean Page.

She was a Christian lady of the Baptist faith who loved to sing gospel music. During the 1980’s she was a member of The Gospel Ramblers and played the keyboards. The Gospel Ramblers were featured on the TV channel 14 in Hickory, NC. Mrs. Benge worked as a Certified Nurses Assistant for many years and loved helping take care of people. Her last employer was Intrepid in Hickory.

Mrs. Benge loved to travel and spend time in the mountains as well as the beach. She also enjoyed watching her favorite game shows on TV and The Andy Griffith show. Most of all, she was a loving mother and grandmother, who adored her family.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, William Salford Benge and a sister, Ann Behrens.

Surviving Ms. Benge are her daughter, Angela (Kenneth) Hicks, of Morganton, NC; a son, Dustin (Shanon) Benge of Morganton, NC; two brothers, Donald (Nancy) Page of Newton, NC and Nolan Page of Kings Mtn., NC; a niece Patty (Doug) Westover of Taylosrsville, NC; eleven grandchildren, Caitlin Hicks, Kendra Hicks, Ebony Hicks, Dulson Benge, Chevy Benge, Betty Hicks, Trenton Rutledge, Amanda Bolick, Aaron Lyons, Brianna Benge, and Tori Benge; and seven great-grandchildren, Brianna Hicks, Josh Hicks, Winter Hicks, and Skylar Hicks;Bryson Crowe, Nevaeh Crowe and Cameron Butler.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM at Valdese Family Funeral Care and Perfect Peace Cremations in Valdese on Friday, January 20, 2016 with Pastor Mike Roland officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Hillcrest cemetery in Valdese.
