Linda Kay Cook

Linda was born to Upland residents Mary Hixson Davis and Norman Hixson on October 15 1943, and passed on January 4, 2020. She is survived by her husband Tom Cook and children: Cari Bertrand of Carlsbad, Kathy Cook-Huebbe of Alta Loma, Kirsten Robertson of Kirkland WA., and Aaron Brooks of Phoenix AZ. Linda’s life was further blessed by her grandchildren: Michael Johnson of Murrieta, Grant Robertson of Kirkland WA., Christian Robertson of Kirkland WA., Ethan Huebbe of Alta Loma, Avery Huebbe of Alta Loma, and Evan Huebbe of Alta Loma. Linda’s surviving siblings are Norma Ashworth of Coronado, Donna Wheeler of Houston TX., and Diane Wilson of Ashland OR. Graduating from Upland High School in 1961, she went on to graduate from SDSU in 1965 with a BA in Education.

Linda was an elementary school teacher for the Central School District for the majority of her career. She had a devotion and unwavering commitment to education for kindergarteners. Linda was very active in the First Presbyterian Church of Upland, Quilters Guild, Friday Afternoon Club, and Assistance League. By far Linda’s greatest love was her family and grandchildren; she was unduly committed to their every happiness and was in constant communication no matter how far away they were. Services will be held Thursday January 16th, at 11:00 at the First Presbyterian Church of Upland. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to either the City of Hope, or the Seattle Children’s Autism Center.
