John Brent Jetton

John “Brent” Jetton, an Alta Loma resident for 32 years, passed away peacefully on February 17 and now rests with God. He is survived by his wife Kim, two sons John and David, and three grandchildren, Elliott, Owen, and Benjamin. Brent is also survived by his brothers Steve, Craig, and Scott. Brent spent over 30 years in the insurance industry and owned and operated Silverstone Insurance, an independent insurance agency. Born in 1957 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Brent later moved with his family to Montclair CA, where he attended Montclair High School. Brent went on to play baseball and earn his Bachelor’s degree at University of La Verne. There he met the love of his life, Kim Jabara, whom he married in February of 1981. He moved to Alta Loma in 1988 with his family, and there he became deeply involved in his sons’ activities and education, including coaching little league and youth basketball. Through these and other community activities, Brent became a trusted friend to all who knew him. He was happiest when spending time with his friends and family, particularly his grandchildren. Brent believed deeply in giving back: he supported many local sports, church organizations, and schools with both his time and money. He will be dearly missed.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions the memorial service will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, Brent’s family has asked that those that wish to reach out do so by supporting youth athletics as Brent did throughout his life, by giving to goodsports.org to help them pass on the enjoyment of youth sports.
