Colonel Terry D Stevens, USAF, Retired, July 10 1938-February 22, 2022.
Terry is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sharon P. Stevens, of the home, one son, Terry D. Stevens Jr., of San Antonio, and a daughter, Danna K Bernardi of Tampa, FL. He also leaves a brother, Stephen G. Stevens of Ada, OK, and two sisters, Charlene Litke of Duncan, OK and Stephynne Stevens of Wynnewood, OK. Terry was preceded in death by his father, C.N. Stevens, mother Ella Stevens and sister Peggy Wingo, all of Hennepin, OK. And son Geary D. Stevens of Hennpin, Ok.
Following graduation from Woodland High School in Davis, OK, Terry enlisted in the Air Force on July 13, 1955 and retired from active duty on May 1, 1992. Over his 35 years of active duty, he served in aircraft maintenance, administration, postal, personnel, manpower, social actions, and security police. He also commanded Det 6, 1141st USAF Special Activities Squadron, a NATO Unit at Ramstein AB, GE, and personnel staff positions at the Air Force Manpower and Personnel Center, Randolph AFB, TX.
Terry and Sharon were stationed at Dyess AFB, TX, Izmir, Turkey, Oklahoma State University, OK, Tyndall AFB, FL, Perrin AFB, TX, Los Angeles AFS, CA, Lackland AFB, TX, Sheppard AFB, TX, Ramstein AFB, GE, Randolph AFB, TX (2nd), Scott AFB, IL, and Randolph AFB, TX (3rd). Terry also served unaccompanied tours at Evreaux AB, France and U-Tapao AB, Thailand.
Terry received many accolades, decorations and awards during his military career, but was most proud of his service to his country and caring for and loving his family. He believed there was no greater calling than to serve and protect the greatest nation on Earth.
