Richard Emile Legere

Richard Emile Legere, age 74, of New Braunfels, TX passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023 after a brief illness. Richard was born in Sanford, Maine on May 7, 1949 to Gerard and Gabrielle (Leblanc) Legere. He graduated from St. Ignatius High School in 1967. Following graduation, he joined the United States Air Force, in which he served 21 years, retiring in 1988. Though he lived in Texas for many years, Richard was a lifelong Patriots fan who was proud of his New England roots.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Donald and Roger, and his sisters, Elaine and Renee. He is survived by his wife, Reina, son Jeff with grandsons J.J. and Julian, daughter Jennifer with grandson Isaiah, and stepdaughters Jennifer Weigold and husband Robert with granddaughter Cassidy, and Crystal LaPradd and husband Seth with grandson Kristopher and granddaughters Samantha and Kaili. Richard's large extended family includes his surviving siblings, Linda Baker and husband Gary of Sanford, ME, Denise Deering and husband Roger of Punta Gorda, FL, Sandra Payeur and husband Michael of Sanford, ME, Mark Legere of Wells, ME, James Legere and wife Janet of Acton, ME, and Laura Mayo and husband Rob of Bryans Road, MD.

Services will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Colonial Funeral Home in Universal City, TX followed by a committal service with military honors at 1:30 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association in Richard's honor.
