Dorothy liked having Sunday breakfast with friends at Denny’s, Ihop, or Cracker Barrel. She would have her hair done every Saturday, a definite must! She could always be found walking in her neighborhood and loved walking behind our house in Maui at least two times per day. When not outside enjoying the weather she was watching action movie and western movies, also the Ten Commandments and Spartans.
She liked to travel so she took cruises to China and through the Panama Canal. With her family she went to Thailand and Taipei. Dorothy liked to stay active. She would crochet aprons for family and friends as Christmas gifts or for special occasions. She also would knit various items for family and friends as well. She did a lot of volunteer service within her community. She received the “President’s Volunteer Service Award” for many years (2011, 2012, 2014, and 2016). She was given her Department of the Army Certificate of Retirement on September 29, 1989.
