So sorry to hear of Chris's passing.  We met back in 8th grade...the Def Lepard years. For some reason I always associated  one with the other. My father got another assignment  and we moved out of state then returned sometime not long after high school. I would run into Chris here and there quite often usually at one of my parent's band performances. I always knew Chris was around the moment I heard his voice....I can hear him coming up behind me just thinking about him.  That deep voice he had that was always punctuated with a shot of rolling laughter. Our meetings became few and far between but always enjoyed seeing him. I'm sad I won't see him but I'll always  hear him  the moment he is mentioned  or anytime I hear a track off of Pyromania. I'm so sorry to have missed any services which may have taken place I would have definitely attended  and liked his family to know that although we may have been out of sight he was never out of mind. Joe Self, a mutual friend and neighbor of Chris, passed last week. As with Chris I always  took it for granted we would see each other again. Never has it made more sense than it does to me now when I hear the phrases " taken too soon" or " was too young" .   We were eternally 15 years old in each other's presence whether we liked it or not.  Without them .....just two great big steps towards never truely feeling that way again. That's my loss...that and the regret of not reaching out more. Small potatoes  compared to the list of losses the familes of both must be having and for that I am genuinely  sorry ,  the magnitude of which I can't possibly even pretend to understand.  Chris will always be credited with a speaking part and anything but a minor role when the credits of my own lifetime run. Much love to Chris's family and to anyone else who held him close....you have my deepest condolences.
