She was born in Gretna, Louisiana on November 9, 1946 to Cecil and Blanche Brown.
Beverly had a career as a civilian working for The United States Air Force. She served around the world as a leader for Morale, Welfare, Recreation, and Services, working to make life more fun and comfortable for service members.
After retirement, she served as a Universal City Council Member for 12 years. There she was able to continue her passion for community service. Her most notable accomplishments include being a founding member of the Dog Park Committee, board member for Homes for the Homeless, volunteer coordinator for the animal shelter, and being instrumental in the creation of The Heroes Walk in remembrance of 9/11 and the 9/11 Memorial at Red Horse Park.
She loved to spend time with friends and family, travel, read, solve puzzles, and eat lots of chocolate.
She was preceded in death by her mother Blanche Jones.
She is survived by her loving children Scott (Brandy) Mills and Audrey (Tracy) Owen. Beverly was a proud grandmother to Jessica, Hannah, Sarah, and Patrick. She is also survived by her niece and nephew Teri and Patrick, fellow grandparent Carol, and numerous friends she counted as family.
A memorial service for Beverly will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148.
A reception will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Olympia Hills Golf and Event Center, 12900 Mount Olympus, Universal CIty, TX 78148.
