Antonio P. Martinez, age 59, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on October 9, 1961, the oldest son of Antonio B. Martinez and Esperanza Martinez. Antonio grew up in the southside of San Antonio and graduated at Harlandale High School where he met the love his life, Lydia Martinez in 1980. The pair got married on March 6, 1982 and started their lives together.
In August of 1986 they welcomed their son, Anthony R. Martinez, who Antonio loved coaching sports with. On Antonio’s birthday in 1995 his daughter, Angelica N. Martinez was born. Antonio got promoted to ‘Grandpa’ in May 2008. His grandson Antonio R. Martinez was born and brought a whole new type of happiness to his life. Six years later Antonio became a Grandpa again to his granddaughter, Mia E. Martinez who brought him joy. Antonio would volunteer his time at numerous events. He had faith in God and never lost faith in his Cowboys. Antonio’s love and compassion for his family was strong and he also showed love and compassion to those around him. Antonio worked as a Team Lead at the Caterpillar Seguin facility in the Logistics Area. He was known for his calm demeanor, patience and positive attitude. He was always a friend to those who needed one and was always willing to help. God called him home to rest on January 21, 202—He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He survived by his wife, Lydia Martinez; son, Anthony Martinez (Ariana); daughter, Angelica Martinez; grandchildren, Antonio R. Martinez and Mia E. Martinez; mother, Esperanza Martinez (late Father, Antonio B Martinez); brother, David Martinez; numerous Nieces and Nephews.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, with a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service for Antonio will be 9:00 am Friday, January 29, 2021. He will be laid to rest following the funeral service at Mission Park South Cemetery, 1700 S.E. Military Drive, San Antonio, Texas.
