Steve Michael Adams

Steve was born on September 29, 1955 in Newark, NJ to Matthew and Jean Adams.

Steve leaves behind his loving wife of 32 years, Lorraine Adams, beloved son Steven Adams, cherished daughter, Brittani and husband Zachary Nevolo, and adored grandchildren, Elle and Hudson Nevolo. In addition Steve leaves a brother, Greg and sisters Carol and Diane.

Steve was a NYPD officer for 16 years and prior to that a Newark, NJ firefighter. He then worked at S&P Global where he retired in 2022. Steve was very proud of his Newark upbringing and has strong ties with many of his old neighborhood friends. His strong ties to the police and firefighting communities have resulted in friendships developed over the years that remain strong to this day. If Steve was your friend he was your friend for life and he epitomized the definition of a real friend - "A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out".

Steve enjoyed life whether it was weight lifting, walking his dog Shadow, spending time with his family or gathering with friends to share a story or two.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit the McCracken Funeral Home, Union, NJ on Sunday October 1, 2023 from 4-8pm. A mass of Christian burial will be held at Holy Spirit Church, Union, NJ on Monday October 2, 2023 at 10:30am. Cremation will be private under the direction of the funeral home.
