Gina was born on January 13 1963 in Trenton NJ. She was the daughter of the Late John and Connie Genovese.
Gina lived with her sister, Dolly, who cared for her for the past 4 years. Gina has brightened the days of countless individuals over the years with her infectious smile. She loved to sing despite not being able to carry a tune. Gina loved all Broadway shows especially “Jersey Boys” and “Mama Mia” and despite our best efforts, we couldn’t’ stop her from singing along in the audience!
Gina lived for Wednesdays when her Sports Illustrated would be delivered to her sister’s home. She knew every, single team feature whether it be baseball, football, basketball, or hockey. She was a die-hard Philly fan but she was known to root for whatever team was winning at the time.
She was loved by so many people that if we listed them here, it would take up the entire edition of the Star Ledger.
Gina was also survived by her five siblings, Barbara Genovese, Dolly Power, Peter Genovese, Carmine Genovese, and John Genovese. She will be sorely missed by her 2 biggest fans, her nephews Tom and Mike Power. Gina also leaves behind Tom’s wife, Keely and Gina’s great-niece, Maeve Elizabeth who Gina loved to call “Daisy May”. Gina also is survived by her cousins Cristy, her husband Scott, Carmine, Anthony, Mia, and Logan and countless aunts and uncles in Connecticut and Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gina’s memory to the Special Olympics.
