Michael C. McGeeney

He was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on November 27, 1944, to the late Gerald and Ruth (nee Dilley) McGeeney. After living in various parts of the country during his career, Michael made New Jersey his home for the last forty years.

As a boy, Michael loved water skiing on his dad’s motorboat and going to the Gulf Coast of Texas. He loved golfing, spending time at the Jersey Shore, coaching soccer, exploring Paris with Barbara, and watching college football, including his alma mater, TCU. Most importantly, he loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.

Michael was predeceased by his two daughters, Michelle McGeeney and Tiffany Swanson, and his sister, Gerre Ann Waterson.

Michael is survived by his loving partner of 22 years, Barbara Klim, her two daughters, Christine and her husband John Pitarresi and Heather and her husband Kenneth Urbano, his two sons, Shawn and his wife Angie McGeeney and Michael A. McGeeney, 13 grandchildren, Chelsea, Shane, Shannon, Emma, Ryan, Ali, Kyra, John, Kaleigh, KJ, Trafford, Harrison, and Darby, and four great-grandchildren. He is survived by his brothers, Patrick and Bob McGeeney, and sisters, Peggy Strudwick and Sharon McGeeney. Michael is also survived by his loving dog, Teddy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024, at 10:30 am at Holy Spirit Church, Union, NJ. Cremation will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Michael may be made to Atlantic Health Hospice.
