George Weiss

Born June 10, 1940 to the late Charles and Dorothy Weiss of Newark, NJ.

George was a dedicated employee of Macys for over 50 years and as a young man served in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer.

Of all things George loved his family most. “Uncle George” was the pillar of the family; the one who was turned to for support, wisdom and guidance. As a young man he spent many weekends with his nieces and nephews; taking them fishing, camping, exploring the Delaware river and building in them a lifelong love of the outdoors. As the family grew his joy was spending time with his great nephews and his two grandchildren who affectionally dubbed him “Booboo Head Papa”.

He is survived by his son and daughter in law Carl and Lori Ann Weiss, two grandchildren Gregory and Abigail, his uncle Jimmy, nieces Dorothy Hill and Amanda Pastor, Tammy (Laureen) Scuorzo and nephews Francis Pastor, Charlie Weiss, Georgie Weiss as well as many other family and friends.

A visitation for George will be held Friday, December 28, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave, Union, NJ 07083. A funeral service will occur Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM, 1500 Morris Ave, Union, NJ 07083. An interment will occur Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hollywood Memorial Park, 15000 Stuyvesant Ave, Union, NJ 07083.
