Eugene Honrath

Eugene Honrath, 85, of Union, NJ, passed away peacefully, at his home, on June 16, 2015. Visitation will take place on Tuesday June 23, 2015 from 4-8 PM at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave., Union, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday June 24, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Holy Spirit Church, Suburban Road, Union, NJ. Cremation will be private. Eugene was born and raised in Vauxhall section of Union, NJ, the youngest of twelve children. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. Eugene was a plant operator at the Exxon refinery in Linden, NJ, for 37 years before his retirement in 1993. Eugene is survived by the love of his life Marie Honrath; they have been happily married for 64 years. He was the proud father of Eugene Jr, and his wife Linda, Janet Marie and her husband Fred Westphalen, and the late Robert Honrath and his surviving wife Mary. Eugene had 11 grandchildren, whom he loved, and adored Jason, Christopher, Eugene III, Joshua, Raymond, Gina, Sheila, Adam, Mariel, Fred and Meagen and 8 great-grandchildren.
