Graveside service for Leslie Carl (Buck) Williams will be held 1:00pm on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Little Rock Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00pm on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Stephens Funeral Home in Union, MS with Matthew Hitt officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Buck, 94, of Little Rock was the last of eighteen siblings. After graduating Mississippi State University in 1947 with a Bachelors Degree in Agriculture, he taught Agriculture at Walnut Grove, MS.
Buck married Marlene (Molly) Harrison in 1950 and moved to Tupelo, MS, where they welcomed their first daughter to the family, Janis Williams Galatas, of Martin, MS.
Buck managed Tupelo Loan Brokers for two years and in 1952 began a 33 year career with the USDA. Their son, Bruce Williams of Decatur, MS, was born while in Tupelo.
In 1961 the family moved to Aberdeen where Buck was the Monroe county Agent for the Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service (ASCS) (USDA). In Aberdeen their second daughter was born, Amy Williams, of Meridian, MS.
Buck retired in 1985 and lived a full and active life. He loved working his soil, and kept a large garden every year. Buck was very good with carpentry, and helped build several houses for family members and himself. Buck was involved with renovations at his Church, and mission trips involving Church building and remodeling.
Buck is survived by all three of his children; three grandchildren, Alan Williams, Anthony Williams and Melia Williams Jimenez; three great grandchildren, Adalynn Jimenez, Preslie Jimenez and Alice Williams.
