Mary B. Callahan, 92, of Union City, NJ, peacefully passed away on Saturday October 22, 2022 at her home in Catasauqua, PA, where she lived for the past year with her eldest daughter. She was surrounded by her loving family. Born in New York City on October 31, 1929, to the late John and Mary Kennedy. Mary lived in New York City before moving to New Jersey where she spent most years in Union City, NJ. During that time, she worked hard while raising her three children.
Mary will be greatly missed by her family. She was a loving mother and devoted grandmother. She was even blessed to see her great grandchildren who will hear the many fun and loving stories of her as they get older. From her love for clowns, but not comedians, to cooking and saying grace at family and holiday dinners to singing her favorite irish songs. Mary loved to sing “Danny Boy”, “Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ra” and “Irish
eyes are smiling”. She will be remembered as everyone’s favorite grandma and the one who loved you no matter what.
Survivors include her eldest sister Theresa Anastos, her children: Thomas (Patricia) Callahan, Maureen Collins, and Eileen (Joe) Divivo. Her 8 grandchildren: Tommy (Theresa), Casey, Tara (Brandon), George, Charles, Tara Marie, Joseph (Samantha) and Mary. Her 5 great-grandchildren: Gabriel, Joshua, Matthew, Jayden, and Chloe.
All of those who she has touched and loved deeply, please join us celebrating Mary’s Life on Friday, October 28, from 2-7pm at the Leber Funeral Home, 2000 Kennedy Blvd, Union City, NJ.
