Edward Aymar

Chick was born on August 8, 1945 and was a lifelong resident of Hudson County. At a tender young age, Chick began working alongside his dad in Aymar’s Auto Body, met and married his sweetheart Mary (predeceased), and went on to have three children – Deborah, John (predeceased), and Jason. He went on to become a North Bergen Police Officer and earned the respect of his colleagues and all that knew him.

In retirement, Chick found himself playing around cars once again, with his pals at Dewland’s and his canine friend Knuckie. Although once a sports hunter, Chick later found that shooting with a camera was more his style. His bird photos were second to none, and soon he had an impressive Facebook following of fans and friends with affiliations to many birding photo groups. A known creature of habit, on Sundays he dashed out with his dear companion, Linda Roglen, in “the Wanderer”… often to the shore, nature wildlife refuge, or Sussex (bears!!) to capture nature on the lens.

We know his family meant more to him than anything else in the world. He was still the go-to person for his adult children. He was an advocate for his son-in-law Jim (and appreciated his cooking and laundry skills, haha) and adored his grandchildren, Jackson, Victoria, and Lucas. He was unendingly proud and always supportive, and never missed an opportunity to celebrate milestones. He chuckled along with the family when sharing the “remember when…” stories and took the teasing like a champ. He worried about his loved ones but never forced an opinion. He lived vicariously through their adventures.

As private as he was, he still managed to touch countless hearts, form life-long friendships, and share words of wisdom acquired by his life experiences. We can only take comfort in knowing that the people he missed here will be welcoming him there.
