Kayla Connors

Kayla Renee Connors, 28, of Quaker Hill was welcomed into the arms of Our Lord on March 10, 2022. Kayla was born May 22, 1993, the daughter of Kerri (David) Metzermacher and William Connors. She leaves behind her beloved fiancé’, James Shaw, and their son, James Jr., and her daughter, Sophia Bernier.

Maternal grandmother, Christine (Brett, predeceased) Perkins, maternal grandfather, Frederick (Dee) Bruning, sisters, Maranda Popham, Rylee Ingelsby, Nicole Blanchette, Rae-Benitez-Bernier, her daughter, Aiyanna, and Mercedes (Pedro) Dos Santos, her children, Cameron and Tristan.

Maternal aunts, Elizabeth Harvey, Janet Bruning, Jan (Bruce) Archer, Melissa (Joel) Sanford, Rebecca (Lloyd) Brown, Julie Bruning and Wendy Bruning, predeceased. Maternal uncles, Jerry (Sandy) Bruning, Clem (Donna, predeceased), Bernard Bruning and Donald (Mila) Bruning

Kayla was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, May and John Connors. Paternal aunts Jackie (Tywan) Jenkins, Cindy Connors, paternal uncles Jimmy (Laura) Connors, Charles (Mary) Connors ad Tom Connors. Paternal cousins, Kyle Connors, his son, Tyrell predeceased, Jordan Johnson, Laryssa Reeves, her children, Aariana, Darrius, Ruby and Bhrea, and Mariah Reeves.

Kayla’s world revolved around her children, James Jr and Sophia. You could always find them at Fort Shantok or hiking at Devil’s Hopyard. Kayla’s kind and giving nature was touched by all that knew her. Kayla’s spirit will live on in all our hearts.

A Celebration of her Life will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, from 4-7 pm. at the Church & Allen Funeral Home, 53 Norwich-New London Tpke, Uncasville, CT. A Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 22 Maple Ave, Uncasville, with a repast in the church hall immediately following. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

At the bequest of the family, donations may be made to the grandparents, Fred and Dee Bruning to defray the cost of the services.
