He was a forklift operator at Kellogg Marine in East Lyme and he enjoyed fishing, Harleys, had a collection of knives , watching Si-fi Channel, but most of all, he loved staying home with his friends and family.
James is survived by his mother Linda and husband Delbert Gummoe of Uncasville; sisters, Lisa Riley Baker of Uncasville and Melissa (Loren) Nimmo of Uncasville; brother, Delbert Gummoe III of Uncasville; two daughters, Jamie (Chad) McBride with grandson Raiden of Texas, and Mary Goyette and her boyfriend Nick Knight of Missouri; as well as several nieces and nephews and one great nephew.
He was predeceased in death by his father, James Joseph Riley Sr., grandparents on both sides, and several aunts and uncles.
There will be no formal funeral service, but a Celebration of Life will be held at the VFW in Montville on July 6, 2024 from 2PM – 7PM.
