Frances was born April 7, 1927 in New York City, NY, the only child of the late Dennis and Mathilda (Inderst) Dwyer.
Frances married Charles A. King on October 8, 1950 in the Bronx, NY. Charles predeceased her in May of 2010.
Frances was a New York City girl at heart. As a young woman, she felt fortunate to have worked in the Manhattan office of the New York Botanical Garden as a fundraiser and secretary; at the now defunct Liberty Magazine as secretary to the assistant art director, Otto Kurth, who became a member of the Peconic Bay Impressionists; and in her last job as a secretary, for many happy years, in the guidance office of St. Bernard High School in Uncasville. In retirement, Frances volunteered at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital lobby shop. Frances loved to travel, but she was happiest when surrounded by her family at home, celebrating birthdays and holidays.
Frances is survived by her son Dennis King MD (Judith); daughters Eileen King (Carl Crampton), Carol Minot (Kenneth), and Dorothy Slocum (Matthew). Frances also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Briana and Aaron King, Catherine and Jillian Crampton, Justin and Ryan Avery, Nadine and Conner Slocum; and one great-grandson Aaron Mansfield.
