Services for William Kelly Tidmore, 83, of Tyler are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 14, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Athens with Rev. Jerry Hawbaker and Rev. Park Robertson officiating. Burial is in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Athens under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
Mr. Tidmore passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 in Tyler.
He was born on August 16, 1928 in Van Zandt County to the late Howell Clifford and Johnnie Stover Tidmore. He was the retired owner of Tidmore Auto Parts, a member of the Athens Masonic Lodge #165 and the Noonday Baptist Church. He served as a minister of music for many years and last served for 18 years at Noonday Baptist Church. He previously served as a music director at West Athens Baptist Church in Athens and Dixie Baptist Church in Tyler.
His grandchildren and great grandchildren called him Papa and loved the attention and affection he shared with him.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Maynard, Ellis and Elmo Tidmore and sisters, Earline Palmer and Edna Devries.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Juanita Halbrook Tidmore of Tyler; sons, Kelly Tidmore and wife Anneliese of Little Rock, Arkansas, David Tidmore and wife Ann of Tyler, Reginald Tidmore of Tyler; daughter Leatha Bishop and husband Keith of Tyler; brothers, D. J. Tidmore of Tyler and C. W. Tidmore of Athens; sisters Frances Fulgham of Malakoff and Maxie Barton of Athens; grandchildren, Jeremy, Elana, Chris, Heather and Bailey Tidmore and Lacey Bishop; and great grandchildren, Hunter, Andrew, Matthew, William and Lucas Tidmore.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-7:00 p.m. at Lloyd James Funeral Home in Tyler and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at First Baptist Church in Athens.
