Virginia Cathleen (Cathy) Shelton

Cathy passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 in a Houston hospital. Cathy was born August 6, 1942 in Killeen, Texas.

Cathy was a lifelong resident from Tyler, Texas. Cathy graduated nursing school from Texas Women's University of Denton, Texas, and Robert E. Lee High School, Tyler, Texas. Cathy had a career as a nurse, working mainly for private practices.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, J.C. Hanson and Cathleen Hanson both of Tyler Texas, a brother, Danny Benton of West, Texas, a brother, Gary Hanson, of Plano, Texas, and a sister, Barbara Etheridge, of Kingwood, Texas. Her husband of 45 years, Richard Shelton of Tyler, Texas.

Cathy is survived by a daughter, Kelly Babin and her husband Lyn, of Houston, Texas, a son, Bryan "Keith" Shelton, and his wife, DeeAnn, of Tyler, Texas, sister Diana Hanson of Temple, Texas, sister LaVonne Malinovsky and her husband Andrew of West, Texas, sister Catrina Dyer and her husband Darrell of Las Vegas, New Mexico, and sister Barbara Benton-Christo of Waco, Texas. Grandchildren Bryan Shelton and his wife Jennifer of Lafayette, Indiana, Kristi Garrett and her husband Salman Shahrear of Houston, Texas Colby Garrett and his fiance Dana Shaw of Houston, Texas, Stewart Potter of Tyler, Texas and Audree Shelton of Tyler, Texas.

Great grandchildren Caeden, Amelia, and Brantley Shahrear of Houston, Payton Shelton, Aden Baker, and Chloe Mobley of Lafayette, Indiana and Caycen Potter of Mason, Texas.
