Ruth Mae McCleskey

Ruth Mae McCleskey, age 85, of Tyler, passed away in the early afternoon hours of Sunday, December 30, 2012 at the Sterling House of Tyler. She was born on March 6, 1927 in New Milford, Connecticut to Herbert A. and Eva Ubare Witherell; they preceded her in death. Ruth married John K. McCleskey on June 13, 1965 in Wichita Falls and together they spent almost 27 years raising a family and making a lifetime of memories. He preceded her in death on May 25, 1992. Ruth attended Mena Arkansas Seventh Day Adventist Church and in her free time she enjoyed volunteering for PATH and the Tyler HIV Clinic.

Ruth is survived by two children, Cynthia Bradford and husband Raymond of Arp and David M. Case and wife Joan of San Antonio; three grandchildren, Jeff A. Bradford, John H. Bradford and Mathew D. Case; three great-grandchildren, Heather N. York, Amanda E. Malcom, and Dakota L. Bradford; five great-great-grandchildren; and by one sister, Louise Milligan.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Albert Newton.

A family visitation will be held Friday, January 11, 2013 at Lloyd James Funeral Home from 5:30 – 6:30 P.M. Burial will follow Saturday at a private family service in Oklahoma.
