Robert Hunter Peel Clemmons Jr (generally known as Bob) was born on September 29, 1928 in Dallas, Texas to the late Robert Hunter Clemmons Sr. and Alvah Louise Potter Clemmons. Bob passed from this life to an eternal one on Sunday May 24, 2020.
Bob grew up in Dallas TX. After high school, Bob attended and graduated college at Stephen F Austin University. He also completed a master’s degree from the University of Texas at Tyler. After college, Bob served as an officer in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
Bob’s career included management roles in AMF – training personnel in bowling alleys across the country and living in Dallas, and Los Angeles. He transitioned his career to education in the late seventies serving at Tyler Junior College. He was Director of Financial Aid and taught management and business courses as part of the faculty. He retired from life in business in the late eighties. Bob enjoyed his family, boating and fishing, reading, watching western movies – and was a master at crossword puzzles. He enjoyed twelve years living on his daughter’s and son-in-law’s ranch in Mineola, Texas before moving to a retirement home in Tyler.
Bob attended church at several Churches of Christ in Tyler, and the Broad Street Church of Christ in Mineola.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved daughter, Pamelia Jane Clemmons Bader.
He is survived by his wife of seventy years, Helen Jane Conner Clemmons, his daughter Mary Louise Clemmons Verner and her husband Ron Verner. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Chelsea Danielle Jacobs and her husband Mark Jacobs, Cortni Delaine Henke and her husband Adam, Cassie Denae Henley and her husband Austin, Cailee Delise Ellis and her husband Sam, Kristopher Beau Bader and wife, Tiffany Blythe Bader Layne and her husband George Layne, and Nicholas Brock Bader. He is survived by twenty great-grandchildren. He is also survived by the children of his son in law - Christopher Dean Verner and his wife Jala and their two children, and Lindy Kay Wilhite and her husband Will and their child.
