As a lifelong Texan and devoted community member she lived a life full of love, kindness, and dedication to her family and passions.
Edy was a proud alumna of Southern Methodist University where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority and enjoyed her role as a lady-in-waiting in the Rose Festival in Tyler.
After graduation she became actively involved in her community as a member of the Junior League and the Garden Club.
Mary’s compassion extended beyond people to animal rescues which she adored. She is survived by her daughter, Julie Archer, her grandchildren Colin, Maura, and Caroline, and her great-grandson Jet Weaver. Edy will be remembered for her warm heart, strong spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family and the causes she held dear.
Her family will hold a small service to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge.
A visitation for Mary will be held Monday, October 7, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lloyd James Funeral Home, 1011 E 1st St, Tyler, Texas 75701. A "celebration of life" service will occur Monday, October 7, 2024 at 11:00 AM, 1011 E 1st St, Tyler, Texas 75701. A graveside service will occur Monday, October 7, 2024 at 2:30 PM at Blooming Grove Cemetery, Blooming Grove, TX.
