Martha Jo Clay passed away on April 30, 2018 in Tyler. Funeral Services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Whitehouse with Rev. Sherman Mayfield officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at the church. Interment will be in the Whitehouse Cemetery.
Martha was born on January 26, 1933 in Sulphur Springs, Texas to Grady and Zenna Taylor Osborn. She graduated from Sulphur Springs High School. She married Roger Clay March 22, 1952 in the Morrell St. Baptist Church, Dallas, Texas. Martha was a member of Eastern Star, and First Baptist Church in Whitehouse, Texas. Where she was a Sunday School and Training Union teacher for many years. Martha was active also in her children’s activities, she served as a chaperone for the Whitehouse High School Band. She was an excellent seamstress and made many costumes for her children’s school activities.
Survivors include: her husband of 66 years Roger Clay of Whitehouse, two daughters Brenda Clay Fisher of Tyler, and Paula Lynn Knod of Maumelle, Arkansas; two granddaughters Meleah Paulo of Pueblo, Colorado, and Andrea Fisher of Warren, Michigan; and two grandsons Mattox Knod and Alex Knod both of Maumelle, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be the Deacons of First Baptist Church, Whitehouse, Texas.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Missions Program of Whitehouse, Texas.
