Lela P. Parker

Mrs. Parker was born Oct. 25, 1919, in Lindale and passed away Sept. 13, 2015. She was a member of Pleasant Retreat United Methodist Church, and worked for Tyler Public Schools for 25 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Parker, 2004; and her daughter, Sharon Bazzell, on June l7, 2015; grandsons, John Chinnock in 2004, and Jim Rozell in 2009.

Lela is survived by daughters, Carolyn (Jim) Beasley, Hideaway, Melrose (Dan) Fuller, Tyler; and stepbrother Billy Ray Rozell, Tyler; and stepsister, Brooksie K. Murphy, Mineola. Grandchildren, Roxane Weddle, Scott Chinnock, Jeff Fuller, Stephanie Hart, Rhonda Beavers, Heather Drach, Todd Bazzell; and nine great-grandchildren and number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Marion Conaway Rozell; and stepmother, Burin Easley; her brothers, Jim Harold Rozell and Charles Clay Rozell.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Fuller, Scott Chinnock, Scott Drach, Todd Bazzell, Taylor Chinnock and Derrick Chinnock, Ryan Weddle and Nathaniel Weddle. She was loved and cherished by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of Heart to Heart Hospice and Brookdale Senior Care for the care and support given to their mother.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, 6 to 8 p.m. .
