Visitation and memorial services for Janelle Cooper, 77, of Flint, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 in the chapel of Lloyd James Funeral Home with Reverend Donnie Cooper officiating.
She passed away on May 20, 2017 in Flint, Texas.
Janelle Cooper was born on January 28, 1940 in Palestine, to the late Luther Boyd Cooper, Jr., and Alma Langston Cooper. She was a graduate of Tyler High School and East Texas State University, and received her Masters degree from the University of Texas at Tyler. She was an educator, retiring in 1993 from her teaching career.
She was a devoted Christian and a member of Green Acres Baptist Church, Tyler. She loved her family and spending time with them, travel and dance. She was a loving mother, and a loyal friend. Her laugh and her smile would brighten any day. She will be missed greatly.
She is survived by her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Traci Lynette Lewellen and David Glen Lewellen of Flint, her grandchildren, Courtney Spencer Lewellen of Tyler, and Adam Lewellen and wife, Sarah, of Tyler; her nephews, Robert Carey Copeland, and wife Julie, of Tyler, Bruce Alan Copeland and wife Rhonda, of Forney, and Scott Anderson Copeland and wife Marnie, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and many grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her parents, her sister, Glenda Faye Copeland preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 in the chapel of Lloyd James Funeral Home with the memorial service to follow.
