Doris Irene Henson

Doris was born on September 13, 1930 to James Adam Keller and Nancy Lavenia Flemming in Lingo, New Mexico. She was raised in Portales, New Mexico and graduated from Portales High School. She was married to Burlin Henson for over 61 years and Burlin's job in the oil field took them to countries all over the world including Argentina, Kuwait, Australia, Thailand, Singapore, China, South America,Libya and multiple states. She is survived by her husband, Burlin W. Henson of Emerald Bay Community, her children Debbie Henson of Oakland, CA, Burlinda Cousins of Lawrence, MA, Tim and Terri Henson of McKinney, TX, her 12 grandchildren, her sisters Emma Foster and Nina Nailling and her brother Grady Keller.

Doris was an active and devoted member of Emerald Bay Community Church. She enjoyed her many friends of the Emerald Bay L.G.A. Golf Club. She was a longstanding volunteer at East Texas Medical Center.

The family will receive friends from 4- 6 pm Sunday October 2,at Lloyd James Funeral Home 1011 East First Street, Tyler, TX 75701 (903) 597-6611. The memorial service will be held at Emerald Bay Community Church Monday October 3rdat 10:30 am. With Rev. Jay Riley officiating
