Ray Herron

COALING – Ray Herron, age 68, passed away December 26, 2021 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, December 31, 2021 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Artie Shaul officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Mr. Herron was preceded in death by his parents, Christine and Sam Herron; and brothers, Mike Herron and Wayne Herron.

He is survived by his wife, the love of his life and soulmate, Sonja Herron; daughter, Danette Honeycutt; sons, Paul Herron, Chris Herron, Steven Herron, and Jeremy Herron; brothers, J.L. Herron (Pam) and Joe Herron (Teresa); fifteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his little Yorkie, Chrissy, who kept him company and was at his side every day.

Ray was gentle, kind, loving and caring. He showed those qualities every day. He loved cooking, fishing, camping and making HAPPY memories with those he loved.

Pallbearers will be Paul Herron, Dawson Herron, Peyton Herron, Caleb Herron, Tommy Honeycutt, and Brody Honeycutt.

Honorary pallbearers are J.L. Herron, Joe Herron, Jarrod Hunt, Justin Hunt, William Crawford, and Bobby Butler.

In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Vance, Ala.
